About SFRC
The San Francisco Radio Club (W6PW) has served Bay Area amateur radio operators since 1916. We’re a community of hams of every stripe — newcomers studying for their first license, contesters, public-service volunteers, digital-mode experimenters, and homebrewers.
What we do
- Weekly nets on our repeaters — a friendly way to check in and meet members.
- Public service — providing communications for events like the SF Marathon and Kaiser Half Marathon.
- Field operations — Field Day, Winter Field Day, SOTA/POTA activations, and our annual Parks-Polyfecta.
- Licensing & education — VE exam sessions and help getting on the air.
